NEET is a not-for-profit non-governmental organization dedicated to investigating and exploring Sri Lankan biodiversity and wilderness. The mission of NEET revolves around broad-scale biodiversity research, implementation of on-ground conservation actions, advocacy, and consultation of central and provincial governments of Sri Lanka, public outreach, and nature education. NEET functions through several well-trained Sri Lankan field biologists. NEET’s mission also includes collaborating with universities, research institutes, and environmental groups in both Sri Lanka and abroad to conduct research on the conservation, natural history, taxonomy, and phylogenetics of Sri Lankan biodiversity. Through these multifaceted partnerships, NEET attempts to promote biodiversity conservation and management in Sri Lanka. NEET promotes volunteerism in biodiversity conservation and supports numerous educational and awareness programs designed for the general public, university students, local government agencies, and non-government organizations.
